The Bombardment of Paradise, in its original English version, was launched at a public event held in the hall of the old Anglican Church of Valparaiso, on January 25, 2011. Attended by more than 70 historians, journalists, students and interested members of the local community, the launch was supported by the Departament of History of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and the Instituto Chileno Británico de Cultura of Valparaíso. The meeting was introduced by Professor Rodrigo Moreno Jeria of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez who was recently appointed to the the Academia Chilena de la Historia. David Woods presented some elements of his book with slides. He is pictured (right) with local painter and printmaker Jorge Martinez Garcia who created an etching of Valparaiso Bay for the front cover of The Bombardment of Paradise.
